Awoke about 6:00AM in the quiet little cove, rocked gently a couple of times during the night by passing cruise ships, far enough out that the wake by the time it reaches the boat is but a little movement. After checking the crab pots, no luck there, we soak in the morning sun our binoculars scanning the shoreline for activity. An eagle is sighted swooping down at the shore, then we discern that small birds floating near the shoreline are indeed Puffins! At 7:15 we hoist the anchor. Ahh… the ease of this job with the winch motor and a foot control. A fresh water hose beside the anchor winch makes it easy to wash off the mud and whatever else catches on the anchor as it is brought back up.
